Bali has more cultural charm, temples and laid back beaches. If you want nightlife, islands (with amazing beaches!) and shopping, choose Thailand. If you are looking for romance and wellness, go with Bali! If you are looking for budget fun and adventure – check out Thailand.

Generally speaking, Thailand is slightly cheaper overall for food, nightlife and shopping. Bali is a lot cheaper for villas and wellness retreats. Both destinations can and will provide travelers with budget and luxury experiences if that is what the travelers are looking for.

The months that are cheapest to visit Bali are February, March, and October. You see the prices drop (and the flights) in low season, as tourist numbers are drastically lower. It is a great time for budget-minded visitors and honeymooners.

The best time to visit Bali is from April to October, which is considered the dry season. It is worth mentioning that each month within that period can be a best time to travel to Bali.

First-timers should look to stay in Ubud for cultural experience, Seminyak for party nightlife, and Kuta for budget-friendly beachfront stays. Jimbaran is great for couples looking for romance and luxury, If you are a family, it’s the quietness you may enjoy!

Bali is great for food access. Try Nasi Goreng, Satay, Babi Guling, Bebek Betutu, and sample a generous amount of seafood. Travellers should stock up on tropical fruit and Balinese coffee. Herbal teas and vegan options are plentiful especially when Ubud offers the terrific backdrop of catering cafes to vegans.

In 5 to 7 days, you can do the major highlights of Bali in Ubud, Seminyak, Kuta, Nusa Penida, and temples, 7–10 days would allow more time to relax for honeymooners.
